Care Ministry

At The United Church, our Care Ministry ensures that no one walks alone. Through acts of kindness, compassion, and practical support, we nurture and strengthen our church family in times of need and joy alike. Our Care Teams offer help through meals, rides, visits, and encouragement, simple yet meaningful ways of sharing Christ’s love and reminding each person they are valued and cared for.

Ministry Teams

Board of Stewards

A ministry of presence and care for those who are 90 and above, or in a season of life where additional friendship and support are especially meaningful. This ministry celebrates those who have reached a special season of life, marked by wisdom, faith, and enduring grace, offering friendship, meaningful connection, and compassionate support.

Stewards share in meaningful friendships with their Senior Companions, growing together through visits, conversation, prayer, and the joy of shared faith.

They also oversee various church services, including communion preparation, holiday celebrations, and remembrance services.

Care Teams

Meal Train

Volunteers prepare and deliver meals to members experiencing illness, recovery, or other special circumstances, offering nourishment, comfort, and care when it’s needed most.

Care Ministers

Trained Care Ministers walk alongside members facing medical challenges or personal hardship, providing short-term care, encouragement, and spiritual support during their journey toward healing and renewal.

Transportation Team

This team ensures members have reliable rides to medical appointments, treatments, and procedures, helping them access essential care and stay connected to the church community.

Support Team

Volunteers offer hands-on help for practical needs—from light household assistance to errands—helping ease everyday burdens during times of difficulty.

Visitation Team

Our Visitation Team responds to urgent or short-term needs by visiting members in hospitals or rehabilitation centers, offering prayer, encouragement, and a caring presence.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Handcrafted prayer shawls are lovingly created and given to those in need of comfort, healing, or celebration, a tangible reminder that they are wrapped in prayer and cared for by their church family.

Hospitality Team

Our greeters and hosts create a warm, welcoming atmosphere within the sanctuary, helping everyone feel seen, valued, and connected.

Card Ministry Team

Through heartfelt cards and personal notes, this team reaches out during times of illness, loss, or celebration—offering encouragement and reminding recipients that they are remembered and loved.

Training and Development

We invest in our Care Team volunteers through ongoing training, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and spiritual grounding needed to serve with compassion and excellence.

Our Care Ministry stands as a living expression of Christ’s love, building a community where every person feels supported, valued, and cared for in every season of life.
