Youth Ministry June Update

Sunday School - Our Middle School and High School groups have concluded! We are grateful for our faithful teachers, Ray, Lauren, Sandi, and Blair (who will be teaching again next year!). During the last regular Sunday School class, the High School seniors were invited to join the young adult small group. We pray that this transitional experience cultivated important relationships as these students transition from one ministry of the church to another.

High School Youth Group (The Cause) - Our students are entering the last few weeks of the ministry year. Moving into the summer season, we will be finalizing and developing an overall theme for 2026-2027. These themes will be carried into middle school and high school ministries (The Cause and Youth Club). Our summer intern, Summer C., will be assisting us in creating materials that fall in line with this theme. Of particular importance is some level-setting at the beginning of next year, including a teaching on the theology of worship, and education in sound biblical interpretation. Thank you to numerous weekly volunteers, including Ray, Lauren, Dale, Julie, Nancy BP, and Natalie.

School District Connects - Our active mid-week connects are wrapping up for the year.

There will be a review of the youth connects to determine their viability for next year.

Chicken BBQ Fundraiser - Thank you for supporting our annual fundraiser! Funds raised go toward our youth missions and programs.

Faith Journey - A special event for our juniors and seniors - our theme was “You Belong”. We had a devotional in the morning (led by Pastor Wade), along with breakfast (provided by the Men’s Breakfast group). We continued with a scavenger hunt (related to our theme) and a fun service project. For lunch, we went to Simply Crepes and met up with several of our young adults, including Natalie, Levi, and Jen (who shared their wisdom and testimony!). In the afternoon, the group participated in an escape room. After returning to the church, the students experienced a time of reflection with guided prompts in the sanctuary. Dinner was provided by Sandi and Claire. During dinner, the students engaged in a guided discussion, and gifts (prayer shawls) were given to the students. The group ended their time together with fun/games. A special thank you to Julie Zajac for taking the lead on planning this complex event, and thank you to our Youth Ministry Team for their extensive involvement.
