On April 25th, Betty Aquadro Owens will celebrate her 95th birthday. She was an active member of our congregation for many years. Currently she lives in Tennessee near family. She plays bridge and keeps busy with friends. Here are a few of her interesting life experiences: She and her husband had horses and the children were involved in Pony Club activities. They purchased an old school bus, one of the shorter ones, painted it red, hitched up a 4-horse trailer and Betty would drive them all over. She was a fearless driver and also the ultimate hostess. She was known for her hospitality. Betty and her husband were also involved with a youth group and one weekend took a group to Saranac Lake, in the red bus, to a Young Life Camp. Apparently, they picked the coldest day of the year in the country, 30 below zero. The bus had a great heater so it all worked out well. If you missed out on knowing Betty, you probably know Beth (her daughter) and Paul Johnson.
