Family Ministry April Update

Youth Club

On March 25th, the Youth Club elementary kids took part in a Resurrection Egg Hunt. They hunted for eggs throughout the church building with their Bible classes. Each egg they found told part of the Easter story, from Palm Sunday to the empty tomb. That same night, Youth Club middle school kids took part in an Easter scavenger hunt/escape room. They found clues that led them to the beautiful, true story of Easter Sunday. We pray this opportunity to hear the Gospel helped each child draw nearer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Each elementary child was able to take a set of resurrection eggs home with them so that they can re-tell the story to family and friends!

April is the last month of Youth Club, and we have some special plans! We will have 1st graders visit Youth Club on April 22nd so that they know what to expect when they can begin attending in the fall of 2026. Also on April 22nd, our middle school kids get one last “dinner out” at Tom Wahl’s. And our last Youth Club, on April 29th, will include our annual carnival and a special dinner that includes parents, volunteers, and Youth Club kids! We look forward to lots of fun and continued deepening of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sunday school

During the month of March, Sunday school children collected diapers, wipes, and formula for CareNet Canandaigua. At the time of this writing, we have 6 items collected. Our hope is to collect 20 items by Easter Sunday. We appreciate the generosity of our families who have given to this special Lenten offering! We are collecting items in the upstairs chapel.

On March 29, our church family enjoyed the treasured tradition of our Sunday school children, youth, and some Sunday school teachers taking part in the Palm Procession at the beginning of the 11am service. While the combined adult, youth and bell choirs played and sang, children joyfully waved palm branches as they walked throughout the sanctuary. Hosanna in the highest!

Summer Camp

It is campership season! Our church believes that the Christian camp experience is so important that we will pay ½ the tuition for one week at any Christian day camp or overnight camp! This is not a need based scholarship – this is for every family sending a child to Christian camp this summer! The only qualification is that your child currently participates in Sunday morning ministry, Youth Club, and/or The Cause. Parents, please note: Beaver Camp has discount codes for camperships. BEFORE you register your child, please contact Deb for their discount code. For LeTourneau and other Christian camps, our process remains the same, once you’re signed up, send the registration confirmation to Deb, and we will take care of the campership. Parents, you can find camp information in the Missions Room (the room right next to Deb’s office). Check it out to see which camp works best for your family. All campership requests must be submitted by May 15. Questions? Please see Deb Marshall.
