Youth Club
In late February, the Youth Club children filled Birthday Bags. These bags are given to families in need who use our local food pantries and have a child in their family who is celebrating a birthday. We were able to donate XX bags. Thank you to all who donated to this service project!
On March 11th, the Youth Club kids will go bowling at Roseland Bowl. After we arrive at church and have a snack, we will divide up into cars and head over to the bowling alley.. We will bowl for about an hour and then have pizza and soda. Parents, please note, pick up your children early at 5:30pm at the Roseland Bowl. It’s always fun to take a Youth Club field trip!
We will celebrate Easter together on March 25 with a resurrection egg hunt. This special event helps focus our kids on the beautiful story of Easter. The eggs tell the story of Holy Week through Jesus’ resurrection. Please pray that the hearts of all Youth Club children will be open to hearing the Gospel on this special night.
Sunday school
Sunday school kids received age-appropriate Lenten devotionals. It is our hope that providing these devotionals to children and youth will give them an opportunity to grow closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus. It is also a special time that families can engage in faith conversations at home. Parents are encouraged to set aside daily time to use the devotionals together. Please join me in praying for our families as they engage in faith conversations through this Lenten season!
During the month of March, Sunday school children will be collecting diapers, wipes, and formula for CareNet Canandaigua. With spring and Easter reminding us of new life, we thought it was appropriate to celebrate and support new life by collecting these donations. We appreciate all who support this special Lenten offering! We will be collecting items in the upstairs chapel.
On March 29, we will have an Intergenerational Sunday school class in the downstairs dining room. We will enjoy light snacks, fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. Please plan to join us this Palm Sunday for our final lesson in the Compassion series we’ve been using this school year.
Summer Camp
On Sunday, March 15, representatives from some Christian summer camps will be joining us to share about all the wonderful experiences children and youth can have at camp! We are excited to hear about the many different offerings they have planned for this summer. Sending a kid (or multiple children) to camp can be expensive, and that’s why we have camperships! Our church will pay for half of the full cost of one week of ANY Christian camp. (We have special full tuition camperships for those in need). Be sure to get some information about summer camps and start planning which camp works best for your family. You can request a campership beginning March 1 and all campership requests must be submitted by May 15. Questions? Please see Deb Marshall.
